The Department of Journalism was established in 2011 aiming to develop knowledge and expertise in the field of Journalism and mass communication. Courses such as M.A. (Journalism), Master of Journalism (MJ) and Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) are being run by the Department. After completing these courses, students can avail opportunities in the area of Print Media such as news paper, magazines and Electronic media such as Radio, TV communication, advertisements, new media, event management, public relations etc. Apart from theoretical and practical knowledge, emphasis is laid on developing their expertise so that they are able to combat the challenges in the field of journalism and mass communication. Students are also provided counselling regarding job opportunities by the faculties of the department. In all the courses, the students are required to undergo one month industrial/practical training.
